Split subscriptions with friends in Lithuania

Shared subscriptions — Netflix Family, Spotify Family, YouTube Premium, Apple One — are built to be split. The practical question is who collects the money from everyone else each month. Mokam Kartu handles that cleanly, without a card on file and without sitting between the money. This page covers how it works and where to find the per-service guides.

01

What subscription splitting actually is

Subscription splitting is when several people share one subscription and divide the cost. Netflix Premium lets four people stream at once; Spotify Family fits six; Apple One Family includes five. These are official family plans built for exactly this.

The problem usually isn't finding people — it's collecting money from them every month. Someone has to send the reminders, track who paid, deal with the awkward when a friend is late. Mokam Kartu is built to handle that — without anyone linking a card to a third-party platform, and without a middleman sitting between the funds.

02

Why split subscriptions in the first place

First, money. Netflix Premium at ~€17.99/month split across four household members becomes ~€4.50/person — about three times cheaper than an individual Standard plan. Spotify Family at full capacity comes to €2.83/person, versus €9.99 for solo Premium.

Second, simplicity. Instead of several subscriptions on different dates with different charges, you have one bill, one provider, one charge against your card. Everyone else just sends you their share once a month — Revolut, IBAN, or phone transfer.

Third, trust. With Mokam Kartu, members don't link a card to a third-party platform, and your subscription stays in your name — no new owner shows up, no password gets changed. It's an honest household split, not a marketplace rental from strangers.

How Mokam Kartu handles the money

Mokam Kartu doesn't share the subscription for you. You do that yourself — invite people to your Netflix or Spotify plan the normal way. Mokam Kartu handles only the payments between your members.

  1. Create a plan

Enter the service name (e.g. "Netflix Premium"), the total monthly amount, and your monthly date. Choose how many members will share.

  2. Invite members

Up to five people by email (plus you — six total). Each can have their own monthly date so the requests don't all land on one day.

  3. Set up how they pay you

Once: add a revolut.me handle, IBAN with recipient name, or phone number. These settings apply to every plan you host.

  4. Auto-reminder on the monthly date

On each member's date the system emails them with their share and a payment link. Nothing is auto-charged — they decide when to send the money.

  5. Mark the payment received

When the money lands, tap "Mark as paid". A receipt goes out. Late? A gentle reminder is sent the next morning.

Safety and privacy

Mokam Kartu is not a payment institution and never moves the money. All transfers happen directly between members through their own bank or Revolut. We only track who paid what.

The payment methods you add (Revolut handle, IBAN, phone number) are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored. No card data — yours or members' — is ever entered. Sign-in is via Google. We operate under Lithuanian law and GDPR. The service is run by MB "Moku programuoti", registered in Lithuania.

Common questions

Is sharing subscriptions actually legal?
Most family plans (Netflix Premium, Spotify Family, Apple One Family, Microsoft 365 Family, YouTube Premium Family) explicitly allow household sharing — that's what they're for. Problems start if you want to share with people outside your household or share single-user plans (like ChatGPT Plus). Each per-service guide covers the specific terms.
Is Mokam Kartu free?
Yes — free during beta. A Google account is enough to sign up. There's no platform fee on transfers because the money never routes through us.
Do members need to create an account?
Members only need to accept the email invitation. They don't link a card, sign up with a payment processor, or top up a wallet. They pay you from their existing Revolut account, bank app, or whatever they normally use.
How many people fit on one plan?
A Mokam Kartu plan supports up to six people (host + 5 members). That lines up with the largest family-plan sizes across providers (Spotify Family — 6, Apple One Family — 5+1, Netflix Premium — 4+2 extra members).
What if a member doesn't pay on time?
The request stays pending and a gentle reminder is sent the next morning. You decide when to mark it received. Nothing happens automatically — Mokam Kartu doesn't pull funds from either side.
How is Mokam Kartu different from Sharesub or Spliiit?
Sharesub, Spliiit and similar tools are marketplaces. They connect you with strangers and charge each member's card every month. Mokam Kartu doesn't: you can only share with people you invite by email, and nobody links a card to our platform.

Set up a plan in under a minute

Invite the people you're already sharing with. Nobody hands over a card, nobody transfers on your behalf. Just a clear record of who owes what.
