Mokam Kartu vs Together Price

Together Price calls them Admins and Joiners. We call them owners and members. Both apps help groups share the cost of streaming, music, and software subscriptions. The mechanics underneath are very different — here's the honest comparison.

TL;DR

Pick Together Price if

you want the platform to match you with strangers who have empty seats on family plans, you want automated card-to-card monthly reimbursement, and you're comfortable with a UK-registered marketplace sitting in the middle of the transaction.

Pick Mokam Kartu if

you already have the people you want to split with, you (or they) don't want a card linked to a third-party platform, and you'd rather we stay out of the money flow and just keep score.

Admin/Joiner vs owner/member

Together Price built its product around two roles. An "Admin" creates a sharing group around a subscription they already pay for. A "Joiner" — possibly someone the Admin doesn't know — finds that group through Together Price's marketplace and pays in to take an empty seat. The Admin saves money; the Joiner gets cheaper access. The catch: the Admin has agreed to let strangers into their account, and the Joiner has paid a platform to mediate a relationship with someone they've never met.

Mokam Kartu doesn't have that mediation. The owner already has people in mind — a partner, a sister, two friends from school. They're invited by email, they pay the owner directly when the monthly request goes out, and Mokam Kartu just keeps the ledger. We're not in the room when the money moves. If you don't have people lined up, we don't introduce you to anyone — that's not the product we're building.

03

Card on file vs no card

On Together Price, every Joiner has to link a payment method so the platform can run the monthly charge. On Mokam Kartu, nobody hands a card to a third party. The owner already pays the provider directly. Members pay the owner via whichever method the owner has set up: a Revolut deep link, an IBAN with a unique reference number, or a phone-number prompt. This matters when you're sharing with someone who genuinely doesn't want their card stored — a parent on a basic banking app, a teenager without a credit card, a friend who's been burned by recurring charges before.

When Together Price is the better choice

Real advantages we'd point you to Together Price for: you want to fill empty seats on a Group Subscription Plan and don't know anyone personally to invite; you want a platform-mediated payment guarantee in case something goes wrong with the shared access; you value the matchmaking — being shown groups for the specific service you want, rather than picking from your existing contacts.

04 · Mokam Kartu

When Mokam Kartu is the better choice

Mokam Kartu fits when: you already know who you're splitting with — partner, roommates, parents, two co-founders — and don't need a marketplace; the people you're inviting won't or can't link a card to a third-party service; you'd rather settle disagreements about money directly with someone you know than via a platform's refund process; you're paying in EUR and want bank-native flows (SEPA, Revolut, Wise).

05

Switching from Together Price

There's no migration step. Leave your sharing group on Together Price at the end of the current billing cycle, then recreate the same plan in Mokam Kartu with the people you actually know — ideally the ones you'd want to keep splitting with anyway. Invite them by email, set their monthly dates, add your payment method once. The next month's request goes out automatically.

Common questions

Is Mokam Kartu also a marketplace like Together Price?
No. Together Price's whole product is matching Admins with Joiners they don't know. Mokam Kartu only works with people you invite by email. If you need a marketplace, Together Price is the right tool; if you have your own group already, you don't.
Does Mokam Kartu work with the same services as Together Price?
Mokam Kartu works with any recurring subscription paid in EUR — you enter the service name and total yourself. Together Price keeps a curated list of services with predetermined "shared cost" amounts. Different style, same outcome for the services people commonly split (Netflix Premium, Spotify Family, Apple Music Family, Microsoft 365, etc.).
Is sharing subscriptions through either platform legal?
It depends on the provider. Together Price emphasises that they focus on "Group Subscription Plans" — i.e. family/group plans that already permit multiple accounts. Mokam Kartu takes the same view: split plans the provider allows you to split. Neither platform makes the legal call for you.
What if my plan-mate doesn't pay on Mokam Kartu?
The request stays pending and a reminder goes out the next morning. You decide when to mark the payment received. There's no automated card retry because there's no card on file. Compare with Together Price, where the platform attempts the card charge and triggers a refund flow if the shared access stops working.
Is Mokam Kartu free?
Yes — free during beta. Because the money never routes through us, there's no platform fee on transfers. You use your existing bank, Revolut, or Wise.
